The Castle is a spectacular and challenging day walk to one of the iconic peaks of Morton National Park. While the total distance is not large, the climb of nearly 800m is capped by a series of exposed scrambles near the summit. Good fitness, coupled with a head for heights is required.
Tianjara Falls can be found just a short 40kms out of Nowra along Braidwood road. Before reaching the falls, another notable stop is Jerrawangala Lookout. You will find a carpark on your right side of the road when heading towards Braidwood.
Within Morton National Park, west of Nowra, is the large Ettrema Wilderness. Central to the area is the Ettrema Creek, a 20 kilometre long, 400 metre deep, gash in the surrounding plateau. It is harsh rugged country with no formed or marked tracks. Everything seems to want to either scratch or stab you.
